Cancer remains a leading cause of death in Australia, and some cancers still have 5-year survival rates of less than 10%.
Thanks to research, cancer survival rates have improved over the past few decades, but there it still so much work to be done.
Peter Mac is the home of Australia’s largest cancer research group and is Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer.
Our researchers will not stop until we have CURES for EVERY cancer.

Together, we can beat cancer.
Lily was a healthy, happy 5-year old when she suddenly complained of a really bad headache.
An MRI scan confirmed the devastating news - Lily had brain cancer.
This brave little girl faced a 12-hour surgery to remove the tumour.
"Imagine having to sign a form that says your child may die on the operating table", shared Lily's mum, Alicia.
Lily then endured 33 rounds of radiation therapy to make sure the cancer had left her little body.
And that's why we're working to bring an end to this terrible disease, to give kids like Lily a cancer-free future!
Without research, Lily would not be alive today - Alicia, Lily’s mum
